Man on a Giant Bike Chatting Up My Girlfriend

….and she doesn’t seem to mind.
Actually, his name is Pierre Bernier, and he was a really nice man who happens to run Museovelo, a bicycle shop on rue St-Jean in Quebec City. He was cycling around near his shop during a street festival last month, laughing and having a good time with passersby.
We saw Pierre and a companion at dinner that same evening, though we didn’t recognize him at first without the top hat and a giant bike beneath him. We chatted for a while, and when I told him we were from Toronto he said he loves it here. I told him he should run for mayor in the next election. If he brings that bike, he’ll likely win in a landslide.
