Evening in the Park

This shot actually came about by accident. I was walking past Withrow Park in Toronto one day last autumn and I happened to notice the light from the street lamps hitting the trees and creating some interesting shadows. I didn’t think I’d get much of a shot, as I only had my smaller Sony camera on me, but as it turns out the image came out fine and the sky was almost glowing. Lucky shot that also makes the park look much more ominous than it actually is. To be honest, if I remember a small child was playing with their dad and their dog just outside the frame of the image. Kind of kills the atmosphere, doesn’t it?

Haha! I love my Sony. In fact, since I didn’t have a tripod I benefitted from it’s low-light shooting settings.

As far as the kid, his dad and his dog, they’d be nice to have in the shot but for some reason parents frown on me snapping photos of their kids at a park at night. 🙂

Thank you for your comments and for checking out the blog! Much appreciated!
